What kinds of grants do we fund?


Local Komen Grants fund education, screening, and treatment programs devoted to eradicating breast cancer. Up to 75% of the net money raised by the Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure® and the Northeast Ohio Komen Affiliate, remains right here in Northeast Ohio. (The remaining 25% goes to Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Award & Research Grant Program).

The Northeast Ohio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure offers grants for innovative projects in the areas of breast health and/or breast cancer education/outreach, screening, or treatment support projects targeting services not otherwise available to the medically underserved populations of the Northeast Ohio Affiliate.

The Service area of the Northeast Ohio Affiliate contains the following 15 counties: Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, and Wayne.

Grants are available for up to one (1) year.

In 2008, 21 local groups received $1.2 million in grants from Susan G. Komen for the Cure Northeast Ohio Affiliate...
